Now that we're in the middle of summer, it's virtually impossible to play outside from 9am until 5pm. Yesterday the boys woke up around 2:30pm, and that usually begins the hardest time of the day for me (until Dean gets home). A lot of days I get frustrated with something, and I'll put the boys in the car and drive to Sonic for a happy hour coke/diet coke. At least it breaks up the boredom for a few minutes! So this is what we did yesterday. Then on our way home, it actually looked stormy and cloudy outside, so we stopped at the Bay Pointe park to play (Bay Pointe is a neighborhood about a mile from our house). It was amazing.....we got there at 3:15 and stayed for an hour, and didn't even break a sweat until we got back into the van! It was such a nice feeling to be outside during daylight hours without feeling wiped out afterwards.
We had fun playing in the sand and watching bees, and the boys rode on the swings. Poor Drew....he hasn't been on a swing in months, and it was a totally new experience for him. He had the greatest time! Any time we're in our backyard, Grant gets to ride on the swing and Drew never does (we haven't been out there much lately anyway). Drew just laughed and laughed....he thought it was so much fun.....and that made Grant laugh. I've said this before, but I feel so happy as a mommy during those moments where both of the boys are laughing and enjoying life. This doesn't happen many times per day, but it's wonderful when it does!

Thank goodness for those happy "all is right" moments -- they're the only thing that keeps ya going sometimes!!
